‘Rural Escapes.’ The new campaign from Enjoy England
Posted on: June 5th, 2007 by Martin FellowesThe Enjoy England website have launched a new campaign to encourage people to get out into the countryside. The main target of the initiative are the city-dwellers, some of whom regard the rural areas of England as a foreign country. It is felt that many people living in our major towns and cities feel that the countryside is inaccesible and not at all user friendly; Enjoy England hope to dispel this myth with their campaign.
A free 44 page brochure is available with a phone call to 0845 603 6940 or alternatively anyone interested can visit the website at www.enjoyengland.com. Both sources have great ideas on how to visit some of the most spectacular parts of the countryside and coastline of England.
They have even catered for the ‘green’ lobby by providing information about low carbon holidays. Eco-cabins are available in Sussex apparently and there is a sustainable hotel in Norfolk. Some camping and caravan parks are recommended that have good ‘green’ credentials.
There is also a ‘going solo’ section which provides information for people who prefer to holiday or take short breaks on their own. Sports based breaks and educational holidays are explored. Numerous interests can be catered for in rural England and many of them, including gastronomy and extreme sports, are featured in the guide.
So there is really no excuse for not getting out and about; you can stay in anything from a log cabin to a narrowboat. Enjoy England is making every effort to encourage people to enjoy our beautiful country to the full.
