Fears over lebanon travel
Posted on: May 10th, 2008 by Lisa DavidsonIf you have planned on traveling to Lebanon in the near future then you may want to cancel that flight. On Friday, May 9, 2008 the European nations have begun to issue out warning stating that the travel to Lebanon should be limited, if any, because the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group has taken control of what is known as the Muslim half of Beirut today (Friday).
We highly recommend that you follow the advice of the European nations when they tell you not to travel to Lebanon. If you are currently subsided in Lebanon then it is recommended that you currently take particular vigilance and avoid those areas where there has been fighting for a couple of days now.
Also issuing a warning against traveling to Lebanon today and in the near days is the French foreign ministry. France did not plan on evacuating the French nationals at the time of conference. We would also like for you to know that Italy’s foreign ministry has also stated that they are preparing for this and advising their individuals not to travel to Lebanon, especially where the fighting is going on.
Fighting in the area of Lebanon has currently been going on for a couple of days now and no one knows exactly when this fighting is going to stop. So we highly advise you to cancel your flights to Lebanon for at least a month or so. You may want to stay updated on the fight in Lebanon so that you will know what is going on.
