Posted on: December 11th, 2007 by Hannah WestfieldAir Canada has announced a 50% discount on flights to select destinations in Europe and Israel. Travelers interested in flying from major Canadian cities to London Heathrow, Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle, Frankfurt, Munich, Rome or Zurich during the late Winter and early Spring seasons should consider booking their flights by 11:59pm on December 13, 2007, in order to take advantage of what amounts to significant early-bird savings. Air Canada is also offering a similar 50% reduction on flights to Tel Aviv during for travel in Spring 2008.
Sample one-way fares, taking into consideration the current 50% reduction, include trips to London from Winnipeg and St. John’s for only $125, the Toronto to Frankfurt route for $163, Toronto to Tel Aviv for $382 and Montreal to Munich for $163. There is also a Quebec City to Paris route, currently priced at $150.
In order to receive the lowest fares and greatest reductions, passengers should travel mid-week, as prices are higher between Thursday to Monday. Quoted fares always indicate one-way prices, before taxes, security and fuel surcharges, but tickets must be purchased on a round-trip basis in order to receive the discount. Those interested in flying to London from any major Canadian international airport should keep in mind that the lowest fares are for travel between January 8 to February 28, 2008, as well as for the period between April 1 to April 30, 2008. The same date restrictions apply to trips to Frankfurt, and Munich, but there is an additional requirement that passengers stay over for at least one Saturday night.
