Advantage Rent A Car opens first franchise

Advantage Rent A Car has recently announced that its first franchise location has been purchased by Swade North America LLC, for the Memphis, Tennessee market. Advantage is the first major car rental company in the U.S. to make the commit to ‘go 100 percent green’ with its rental fleet.

The Memphis location opened on June 2, 2008, on Stage Road (U.S. Hwy. 64) in the popular Wolfchase area of suburban Memphis.

“We are excited to be working with Swade North America in the development of this and additional locations in Tennessee and Alabama,” said Advantage’s director of franchising, Peter Fritz. “Their enthusiasm and dedication to customer service will be a welcome addition as the Advantage system increases its reach east of the Mississippi River.”

Fritz reported further that Swade’s franchise license allows for expansion of operations to include the Huntsville International Airport site, which will open later this summer. Additional locations for Swade will include both the Memphis and the Birmingham, Alabama, airports.

Kelly Wade, president of Swade North America, said that she is excited about the new Memphis rental location, as it’s ideally situated to serve the local area, including the Bartlett and Cordova markets. “We also look forward to expanding to other areas in Memphis, and we are very excited about introducing the Advantage brand into Tennessee and Alabama,” she noted.

“Memphis and Swade North America are our first franchises and represent a new area of growth and significance for Advantage Rent A Car,” stated Advantage’s chief operating officer Mick Anselmo.
