Air Asia gives advice to potential airport hubs

The low-cost Asian airline, Air Asia, has been giving tips to potential new airports on how best to make them the next choice for being a hub for international airlines at the World Routes meeting in Beijing this week. Air Asia has been expanding across the world from their home in Kuala Lumpur and just recently selected Dubai as a point at where they will stop for refueling before making onward journeys to Europe and the Middle East.

They already serve a number of airports in Southeast Asia and Asia as well as Australia and the UK and continue to expand into different markets across the world. They were speaking to potential hubs about how the need for good service that is required for their passengers and the importance of fulfilling their needs.

This comes at a time when many airlines across the globe are reducing frequencies on routes and some even pulling destinations altogether. This has made the need for securing new airlines a priority for airports with the carriers having the upper hand.

The head of business development at Routes, Paul Winfield, noted that Air Asia are offering airports some good advice on how to secure the services of airlines as a hub as the deals can be very money earning for them both.
