Alamo Rent A Car, one of the largest operators in North America, and Virgin Holidays have signed up for an exclusive agreement that will see the holiday company use Alamo for their rental car business in the US and the Caribbean. Virgin Holidays fly to many cities in the US that include, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Miami and their passengers will now be able to arrange their car hire through the airline. The holiday firm handles around 350,000 travellers each year to cities across the Caribbean and America.
Passengers with Virgin can use the Virgin Check-In (VCI) to reserve their Alamo rental car. The system is similar to Alamo’s own online check-in system that allows the customer to bypass the counter and save valuable time when picking up their car. They also get the special privilege of choosing the exact car they want on the lot in their category for a more personal touch. If there are any last minute changes to the customer’s booking they can use the express desk to add GPS systems, additional drivers or change the category of car.
Both firms are very happy about the link up they have made with the other and are looking forward to working with each other for years to come. The deal is a good way to build up trade for Alamo as the car rental market has not been the best in the past 12 months. Virgin Holidays will also benefit greatly by being able to offer more services for their customers making their holidays more appealing.
