Enterprise Holdings has announced the opening of three new National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car locations in Trinidad and Tobago. This is in partnership with Neal & Massy Automotive Ltd., which includes a multi-territory deal with locations in Tobago at the ANR Robinson International Airport, in Port of Spain at Piarco International Airport, and in Morvant, which is east of Port of Spain. All three of these new locations are accepting reservations online already for both National and Alamo hires.
National Car Rental has been honoured with Executive Travel magazine’s 2011 Leading Edge Award, which recognises the brand as the top car rental service in the travel industry. Additionally, the brand’s Emerald Club won the 2011 Best Rental Car Loyalty Program award in the second annual Editors’ Choice Awards from SmarterTravel. This is the second year the company has received the award. SmarterTravel is the biggest online travel resource for independent expert advice on travelling with a budget. Its Emerald Aisle service and customer benefits (like expedited rentals) have also been recognised in the industry.
Alamo Rent A Car has been recognised as an innovator of technology, as it introduced the first and only online check-in system in the industry, which has been offered since 2005. Customers joining the Alamo Insiders loyalty programme are guaranteed at least 10% off retail rates when they book online. They also automatically get the best available rate when a promotion for more than 10% off is available.
Enterprise Holdings vice president of franchise operations Jerry Smith says they are thrilled about their new locations in Trinidad and Tobago. They are very happy to be partnering with Neal & Massy Automotive Ltd. as they expand their operations in the Caribbean. Their loyal customers visiting Trinidad and Tobago will have access to brands they know and trust, and they are eager to serve them in other destinations in the Caribbean and around the globe, he added.
Neal & Massy Automotive Ltd. senior vice president and executive chairman David O’Brien spoke to government ministries and ministers, staff form the chamber of commerce, and hospitality and travel executives at a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week. He says the expansion of National Car Rental and Alamo Rent-A-Car to Trinidad and Tobago brings two trusted car hire brands to the area. They look forward to the chance to provide the best customer service to residents and visitors, he added.
National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car are both subsidiaries of Enterprise Holdings, which also owns and operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car brand. The group was founded in 1957 and is the most comprehensive service provider in the car hire industry. Its worldwide network includes over 7,700 locations in neighbourhoods and airports, as well as more than twice as many locations as its nearest competitor in the US. Its fleet includes over 1.2 million cars and trucks, while it employs over 70,000 staff and reports annual revenues of $14.1 billion.
National and Alamo recently announced a franchise that makes the brands available in Brazil through Unidas Rent a Car, while a franchise network operates the brands throughout the Americas. Aside from North America, Enterprise Rent-A-Car also provides hire services in the UK, Ireland and Germany. Enterprise Holdings announced earlier this year that it acquired French Citer SA and Spanish Atesa, while it has also made a strategic investment in eHi Auto Services in China.
