Alamo offers free GPS with Florida rentals
Posted on: April 9th, 2008 by Kate PooleAlamo is offering free GPS satellite navigation devices for all those who reserve a one-way rental from an outlet in Florida, and drop-off their car in the northeast or Midwestern United States. Additionally, like many rival firms, Alamo is also offering heavily discounted rates on one-way rental originating in Florida. For example, compact cars are now available starting from only $11.99 per day, or $59.95 for an entire week. It is also possible to rent mid-size cars for the reduced price of $14.99 per day, or $74.95 for an entire week. Larger families travelling home from Florida may find a mini-van rental the most comfortable and convenient option; these are available for $15.99 per day.
In order to receive the free GPS navigation device with a one-way Florida rental, clients must be sure to reserve their vehicle at www.alamo.com and should also key in the correct promotional code or contract ID, namely “FLDAGPS.” To qualify for this special, all rentals must be for a period not exceeding 14 consecutive days and the pick-up must happen no later than June 14th, 2008. Additionally, it is important to confirm the specific list of participating locations, both in Florida, as well as drop-off outlets in one’s destination state. Renters must also keep in mind that prices initially displayed on Alamo’s site do not include surcharges, concession fees and taxes. Those planning to collect their vehicle from one of Alamo’s airport locations are well advised to remember than a concession recoupment fee may end up augmenting the cost of their car hire by around 12 percent. Prospective renters are required to book their car no later than 24 hours prior to the intended day of pick, but advance reservations are encouraged, as both cars and GPS devices are available while supplies last.
