Avis Car Hire has introduced an additional option for customers arriving at London’s Heathrow Airport. The global vehicle rentals firm says hirers choosing Avis Prestige are able to take advantage of a meet and greet option.
The service option means the hirer’s vehicle will be delivered to any of Heathrow’s four terminals and a company greeter will be waiting as the passenger exits into the passenger side Arrivals zone. The greeter will assist with the hirer’s baggage and then take them to their vehicle.
After the car is signed over, the Avis representative will set up the SatNav, if needed, and the hirer will then be able to head off for their final destination. The service is available 24/7 and does away with the hassle of having to take a courtesy shuttle bus from the terminal to Avis’s depot near the concourse’s northern perimeter fence.
Avis Budget regional manager Nina Bell stated that the new service was further evidence of the group’s commitment to offering customers premium options. She noted that being able to arrive and drive would streamline the interchange from air to road for travellers.
On a final note, Ms Bell said the service option would suit business and leisure travellers alike. Eight car hire companies offer vehicles from Heathrow Airport, but Avis is the only one so far to launch personalised meet and greet services for its customers.
Avis and other rentals companies such as Hertz and National maintain booths in Heathrow’s terminals. Avis and Budget have a service depot at Terminal 5 in addition to the main one on the perimeter road.
