Avis launch aggressive growth campaign in Britain

Global car rental firm Avis has promised to double its presence in the UK in the past two months. The firm has opened a total of 37 new car rental outlets throughout the UK and Northern Ireland, with further plans to increase in the coming years.

The company claims that this is just the beginning of the plans, announcing a proposed launch of 100 leisure car outlets across the UK in the coming year. Avis plans to open another 100 in the following year.

The new hire car centres have opened in towns and cities across the country, and will work in conjunction with the 38 Avis car hire rental outlets that are presently located at a number of airports throughout the UK.

Avis spokesman Anthony Ainsworth said that the opening of the branches was a significant achievement for the firm, and revealed that Avis was now a step close to realising their goal of operating a car rental branch located within a few miles of every home in the UK.

Most of the recently opened outlets have been launched in partnership with local business centre operator Regus. The partnership means that customers could now approach their local branch of Regus for car hire in 21 locations.

Avis have said that the introduction of new hire car outlets across the UK is in direct response to a solid performance in 2010, with the car hire giant hoping to continue its success in 2011 by significantly increasing its presence throughout Britain.
