Posted on: December 16th, 2009 by Samantha WilliamsTo help prove they are one of the leading innovative car rental firms in the world Avis has launched a new batch of vehicles that are better for the environment. The Avis Eco Collection has already hit our streets at 21 branches across the UK. In each of these sites you can request one of the eco cars that will be diesel and run at less than 120 CO2 emissions.
Avis Europe has long been a supporter of the environment and has been a CarbonNeutral accredited firm for eight years. A part of a special promotion for the planet Avis will offset all the emissions sent out by their cars for the month of December and January. As well as this they will also match pound for pound the total amount saved in CO2 by its customers.
Since Avis became affiliated with CarbonNeutral their staff and customers have helped to offset more than 147,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions. This amazingly adds up to driving around the world more than 17,000 times, in a car rental. This amount shows how much the car rental giant are committed to maing a better environment for us all to live in.
The CarbonNeutral company are a team who have been working tirelessly on different projects around the world since the mid 1990s. Their aim is to assist different people and companies from all over the globe to better understand what they can do to help the environment and ultimately offset their carbon emissions.
