Hire car firm Avis has signed an agreement with Qatar Airways that will give hirers air-miles every time they rent. Drivers who hire a vehicle from Avis and are members of the carrier’s Privilege Club for frequent flyers will garner up to 800 Qmiles for each rental.
Avis Budget Group commercial and licensee director Troy Warfield said the company was pleased to be entering into what promised to be a fruitful partnership with Qatar Airways. He noted that the chance of gaining air-miles with a reliable carrier would be another of the many reasons to choose Avis when hiring a car.
Mr Warfield continued by saying that Privilege Club flyers would also be getting access to one of the finest rental car fleets in the world. The Avis-Budget Group operates around global 5,000 rental stations and has outlets in diverse locations across the UK which includes all the main airports and rail interchanges.
The Avis-Qatar contract is ongoing and hirers will gain points per rental dependant on their Privilege Club status. The top membership status is Platinum and each time a member with this ranking hires an Avis car, they get 800 Qmiles. Burgundy, Silver and Gold status members will clock up 500, 600 and 700 Qmiles respectively per rental.
Privilege Club Qmiles are not only valid towards complimentary flights, but can be used on benefits such as flight class upgrades and fees for overweight baggage. The programme’s manager, Rahul Kucheria, noted that Avis customers would even be able to use their Qmiles to buy duty-free items or at the Oryx Galleria outlets at Doha’s Hamad Airport.
