Avis Car Rental recently announced it had established a European assistance programme for its customers. For a nominal daily fee, renters can subscribe to the company’s Travel Partner programme which provides assistance in the event of incidents such as lost baggage or bank cards.
Explaining the rationale of the tourist assistance service, managing-director for Northern Europe, Nina Bell, said Avis’s clients expected premium service and this was a way of striving to offer it. She continued by saying that Avis had always been dedicated to its customers and Travel Partner was a continuation of that legacy.
She finished off by noting 24/7 assistance offered renters that little extra peace of mind when they were travelling abroad. The new service is not only available to UK renters as it has options for assistance in German, French and Italian.
In the cases of lost luggage or bank cards, Travel Partner assists with reporting and then liaising with the bank or airline to resolve the issue. Other help comes in the form of advice on passport or visa problems and which organisation to contact.
The service also has direct access to airport flight arrival and departure information to assist users with their travel itineraries. Another great feature is links to apps which give vocal translations of announcements and advice from several different languages.
Drivers booking Avis car hire can add Travel Partner for 11 European countries. It can be booked as an extra when renters pick up their vehicles from the hire station or via Avis’s dedicated app.
