Avis wins World Travel Award for car rentals

Avis Rent A Car has been named the winner of the 2008 World Travel Award as the “World’s Leading Business Car Rental Company.” The Awards acknowledge excellence in the international travel and tourism industry, and are based on input from travel experts from around the world.

“The World Travel Awards are regarded as the highest achievement in the travel industry,” said president and World Travel Awards founder, Graham Cooke. “Votes were cast by more than 160,000 experienced travel professionals around the world and to be recognized by these individuals demonstrates Avis’ excellence and achievements.”

Key criteria used in the selection of winners include business performance, customer and employee satisfaction, creativity, innovation and product expansion.

Avis was the recipient of other awards as well, including “North America’s Leading Car Hire” and “Leading Car Rental Company” in the Caribbean, at the regional ceremony for the World Travel Awards.
