Boo.com signs up with Hertz as its car rental partner
Posted on: May 23rd, 2007 by Robert BergersonHertz and the new Boo.com travel website have signed a deal for car rental sales. Hertz will be the only car rental company featured on the new site and it is hoped that the association will be very profitable for both companies.
The deal is set to run for twelve months initially, during which Hertz will be able to make full use of Boo’s advertising technology. The Hertz ads displayed on the site will be active in that they will change according to information input by the website’s users. Holiday dates and the types of holiday the user is interested in will directly affect the Hertz ad that is displayed. This will keep the ads in context and will be more likely to attract a potential customer to make a car rental booking. This technology was one of the main attractions to Hertz and helped to seal the agreement. Bill Jones, Hertz Europe’s vice president of sales and marketing stated that, “The innovative and intuitive response to customer preferences on the site will, we believe, see PPC delivering significant return on investment.”
Ray Nolan, the CEO of Web Reservations International the company that owns Boo, has said that in the future the ads will also change after reference to a customer’s previous travel history. This will obviously allow even tighter targeting of the advertising which will make a positive customer response even more likely.
