Boris Johnson will be touring New York in a bid to attract more Americans to the UK for their holidays as well as to draw in more foreign investments. The Mayor of London was born in New York and plans to take part in many high profile meetings to launch his promotion of tourism in the UK.
Johnson plans to see the current cast of Billy Elliot during his visit to the Big Apple to promote the theatres in London. The capital of the UK will also receive further advertising after the Mayor leaves as a deal has been struck in which New York bus stops will advertise attractions in London in exchange for New York being advertised on the London Tube services.
Johnson will talk about how London has been chosen to host Disney’s Christmas Carol film in Leicester Square and all of the lights in Oxford Street, Regent Street and the City will be turned on at the same time as the premiere screening in his attempts to make London more appealing to the US. He will keep in touch with people in the UK with regular updates in his progress through his Twitter and Facebook pages.
