British celebrity fancies time travel

As the peak summer season enters into full swing, many Britons may be hoping to enjoy a relaxing holiday in Spain, Italy, Greece, southern France, in the countryside, or perhaps overseas in North America. One British celebrity, however, would much prefer to replace all of these very worldly destinations with a little time travel, according to an old, long-lost video recording which was made public earlier today. David Tennant, a star actor in the prominent UK television series, “Dr. Who,” reportedly admitted during an audition that he would, in fact, really love to travel back in time in the real world, and not just on the fictitious television program. Tennant’s words, however, were caught on tape, and they surfaced this week in the British media. The television star is reportedly somewhat embarrassed about this incident.

It is, however, well worth pointing out that Tennant indicated his desire to travel back in time more than a decade and a half ago, while auditioning for a part in a BBC comedy drama. According to the Scotsman, the then 21 year old Tennant was dressed somewhat oddly in a baggy purple-coloured sweater when he informed others in the room about his desire. When Tennant saw the recently surfaced video clip, his response was that of shock. “My God, what was I wearing?”, he proclaimed, according to the Daily Record. Despite the embarrassment surrounding his nonstandard attire and his very candidly stated wish to travel back in time, Tennant ultimately agreed to permit the inclusion of the video tape on a soon-to-be-released DVD.
