Sixt scooped up the exalted UK car rental firm of the year prize in the British Travel Awards for 2015. The award was presented to Sixt representatives at a recently held gala awards ceremony.
Avis took second prize in the same category at the awards and was followed by Enterprise Rent-A-Car in third place. Commenting on winning the award, Sixt’s UK manager, Per Voegerl, said it was a fitting testament to hirers’ satisfaction with the company’s services and its fleet.
He continued by saying that Sixt staff were particularly pleased to have won the British Travel Awards as they were independent and based solely on consumers’ opinions. Mr Voegerl explained that Sixt combined premium service with cost-friendly vehicle rental rates and this seemed to be a winning combination. He finished off by declaring that Sixt would continue maintaining the same high standards for current and future patrons.
The CEO of British Travel Awards, Lorraine Barnes Burton, said that in excess of 250,000 consumers voiced their opinions for this year’s poll. Altogether 1.2 million votes were placed and these were verified by independent auditors Deloitte.
Ms Barnes Burton noted the awards were the biggest in the country and holiday and affiliated service providers that won were truly at the forefront of their fields. As a codicil she claimed the winners’ logo was a badge trusted implicitly by British consumers.
Gold, silver and bronze prizes were up for grabs in the 2015 edition of the British Travel Awards. A total of 143 different categories included tour operators, travel agencies and cruise companies as well as car hire.
