The European manager of Avis Budget says the car hire group has opened around 400 service outlets over the past two years. Mark Servodidio told reporters that the new depots are predominantly located in France and Italy and were designed to offer customers more convenience.
He continued by saying the expansion was a testament to Avis Budget’s commitment to Europe and its aim of providing holidaymakers and corporate travellers with a vehicle at a location best suited to their particular needs. He noted that hirers choosing Budget could rest assured they were getting a well-maintained vehicle and the support of the group’s comprehensive infrastructure.
Of the 400 new Budget stations, 200 have opened their doors since the beginning of the year. The expansion has seen depots added to the company’s portfolio in key Italian destinations which include Rome, Milan and Bologna.
France has gained the biggest number of new service outlets with additional ones opened in Paris, Marseille and Aix-en-Provence. The country has seen the opening of over 200 new Budget offices which represents a 200 per cent increase on the previous total.
Budget already has a significant presence in Europe. As well as the UK, Budget has lots of outlets in Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. Budget hires cars out of 16 airport locations in the UK as well as all the London rail stations and many major cities such as Oxford, Cambridge and Newcastle.
Budget caters to the requirements of drivers and offers cars with automatic transmission in addition to ones with manual gear-changes. It also has a good range of add-ons and among them are child safety seats and SatNavs.
