Budget Car Rental has announced that it has significantly strengthened its presence in Spain as part of a strategic growth initiative to extend its worldwide footprint. The company has opened 60 new car hire facilities across Spain in the first six months of the year, bringing the total number of Budget branches in the country to 99. On top of this, the company is planning to have another 25 facilities open in the country by the end of the year.
Budget Car Rental, which is a subsidiary of Avis Budget Group, is well-established in Spain to offer services to customers at convenient locations in metropolitan areas and 34 major airports – including Madrid, Barcelona, Seville and Palma de Mallorca. The company’s rental fleet in the country offers quality to value-conscious leisure and business travellers.
The vehicles have automatic transmissions and are well maintained. They come from a variety of automakers – like Ford, BMW, Nissan, Audi, Mercedes, Peugeot, Volkswagen, Renault, Citroën, Seat and Opel. Its Spanish locations also offer travellers child seats, personal property protection packages, GPS navigation devices and vehicle damage coverage options.
Avis Budget Group president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Larry De Shon says that they believe the company hasn’t had enough representation in Europe, so they have made expanding their network a priority to serve value leisure travellers better. Their Spain expansion will better position the company to drive sustained, profitable growth and generate incremental bookings across the EMEA region.
This follows Budget Car Rental announcing last week that it officially opened a rental branch in the Republic of Singapore at Changi International Airport. This new offering will allow customers in the country to benefit from great rates on late-model, well-maintained vehicles like the compact Honda City, economy-size Kia Picanto, full-size Toyota Camry, sport utility Nissan X-Trail and minivan Honda Odyssey. Travellers will also be able to request child seats, fuel service options and GPS navigation devices.
Avis Budget Group president for Latin America and the Asia Pacific Patric Sinisalchi says that expanding their worldwide presence is one of their main strategic growth initiatives. They have a great chance to pursue this initiative in Asia, as in other regions, through the growth of their global Budget Car Rental network. Because of this, they are pleased to offer residents and travellers in Singapore the great quality and value of the brand as a new way to explore the destination.
