As the hike in prices of gas happens this summer why aren’t Americans seeing sense and using less gas? Prospective car buyers aren’t changing their ways as expected by the industry moguls. Some consumers are downgrading to smaller vehicles. Although many gas guzzlers are standing their ground despite the gas prices spiking to $4 per gallon.

The reports show that these prices don’t bother the consumer. They’d put up with the prices as long as they can keep driving their V8 Chryslers.

If however the consumers aren’t prepared to change their habits then the industry may have to make that decision to change for them. The increased to pressure to provide much more eco-friendly cars.. or at the very least cars which consume less fuel. Noticeably the car industry is heading towards the SUV.

So maybe soon America’s love for big cars will change to keep up lowering carbon emissions and ultimately providing less of a hit to the wallet.
