Car rentals set to offer discounted one-way rates

Major car rental companies are getting ready to announce heavily discounted car hire rates for those who wish to book a one-way rental in Florida. Hertz, for example, has already indicated that renters may be able to hire a vehicle for as little as $3 per day, provided that they request a one-way rental for pick-up from a Florida-based outlet and drop the car off at an outlet on one of over a dozen other states. Most industry specialists also believe that other car rental competitors will follow Hertz’s lead in the very near future, especially ones like Budget, National and Avis, all of which offered reduced one-way rentals during the second half of the winter and early spring seasons in previous years. In order to receive the lowest Hertz rates, rentals must be arranged no later than March 31^st, 2008, but the actual drop-off date can be as late as June 30^th, 2008. Those looking to take part in a longer road trip need not worry either, as clients can book a car at the $3 per day price, for up to 14 consecutive days. It is, however, important to remember that regular fees and surcharges are still applicable and will be added to the $3 rate at the time of reservation. There are numerous drop-off locations throughout the US, which means that this one-way promotional deal may very well be convenient for many clients. In some cases, it is possible to drop the car off at Hertz outlets as far from Florida as Burlington, Vermont or Salt Lake City, Utah.
