If you are looking to buy a new phone this month and want something extra to swing you into the deal, then Carphone Warehouse is where you might want to head. The retailer is offering two free airline tickets to anyone that opts for the new Palm Pre for the whole month of January. It is offered on an O2 contract for the time being and to qualify to get the Pre for free you must sign for a contract that will set you back £45 per month.
The Pre was launched in June last year and apparently it has not been selling too well in the past six months. Rumours around are saying that O2 have plenty left and they are trying to shift the excess stock. It is a multimedia smartphone that enables users to connect to the internet via the line or by wireless internet, where available, it is also a camera, a portable media player and has a GPS navigation system so you cannot get lost and of course you can make and receive phone calls on it as well.
The phone was launched as a competitor to the iPhone, but has not done as well as its rival in the telephone stakes. The iPhone was launched well before the Pre and by the end of 2009 it is thought to have sold one million units sold in the UK alone. The iPhone is also available through O2 and Orange and as of later this month be available through Vodaphone.
