CarTrawler shakes hands with Clickair
Posted on: June 2nd, 2008 by Andrew RobertsThese days news of car hire firms and airlines come fast and furious. The formula must be working. The latest linking up comes from Spain, where the Spanish budget carrier Clickair has signed a deal with the car hire search engine CarTrawler, a system that collects and compares fares and deals from major rental firm’s websites.
Clickair’s vice president of marketing Jaime Lloret says, “Ancillary revenue is a core part of our growth strategy, and car rental forms a significant portion of that. Offering our passengers the best possible instrument to facilitate choice was our central goal in selecting CarTrawler as our partner.”
The deal is seen in the same positive light from CarTrawler in what appears to be a mutually beneficial arrangement, CarTrawler’s vice president of business development Robin White says, “Offering value to the consumer is key in achieving the maximum possible conversion when selling car rental. Clickair has truly set the new standard for car rental ancillary selling and we look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with them.”
