Cheaper mobile call this summer when on holiday

New EU rules this summer will mean that you will not pay as much when phoning home ever again.
Results from a new survey have revealed that 38 per cent of Brits did not know that from the 1st July international roaming calls within the EU will be capped at a maximum of 38p per minute for outgoing calls and 17p a minute for incoming. Additionally texts will be limited to around 10p per message.
This is great news for Brits holidaying in the EU this summer but for those who like to browse the web on their phone, they should be careful as this has not come under the new ruling. Vodaphone have jumped on the new ruling and are offering free roaming for the first three months of summer.
For those with Vodaphone travelling a little further afield to Australia or New Zealand they will also receive the great free roaming deal on texts, phone calls, and picture messaging which makes the price no different to if you was in your living room.
Carphone Warehouse who compiled the survey earlier this year expect rival mobile operators like T-Mobile, Orange and 3 to match the same kind of offer for their customers.
