China to Build a High-speed Rail That Runs to the United States

Rail TracksSoon, China, Russia, Canada and the United States will all be linked by a giant rail system. This news came to light as China revealed that it is considering plans to put in a high-speed rail network that will connect all of the countries. If the plan is approved, the line will start in north-east China and run up to Siberia. From there, it will pass through a giant tunnel underneath the Pacific Ocean and enter into Alaska. Then the line will work its way into Canada before reaching the continental United States.

In order for the line to work, it is going to have to cross the Bering Strait. This is the area of water that runs between Russia and Alaska. It would require China to build a massive 125-mile undersea tunnel. A Chinese Academy of Engineering expert on trains said that right now the plan is already being discussed. Russia has been thinking about such a line for years.

This railway, which is being nicknamed the “China-Russia-Canada-America” line, will run about 13,000 kilometres. In order to ride the train its entire length, it would take up to two days. This is assuming that the train will travel at an average speed of 220 mph.

Right now there are a lot of people who doubt that the plan will come to fruition. So far, only a few engineers have said anything about the line being built. Not only that, the governments of Canada, the United States and Russia would have to agree to the building of the rail. The Bering Strait tunnel would also require one of the biggest projects in modern day engineering. It would be the largest undersea tunnel in the world at nearly four times the length of the Channel Tunnel between the UK and France.

That being said, media reports and engineers say that the technology to build such a tunnel is already in place. In fact, this technology is going to be used to build a high-speed railway between Fuijian and Taiwan. The entire project is going to be funded and constructed by China.

Even the Beijing Times has been talking about this line. They are calling it one of the four international rail projects that are already in the works. Another international line is going to run from London to Warsaw, Kiev and Moscow. When the line hits Moscow it will split into two separate lines. One would go through China, and the other would head to Siberia.

At this point, there are still too many unknown details to know for sure if this line is really going to be built or not. However, there are a lot of people talking about it for there not to be some kind of truth behind it.
