Videos of David Cameron snacking on Pringles while sitting in a cheap seat on budget airline easyJet have gone viral this week. He was photographed by several people on the same flight to Portugal and one even managed to take a surreptitious selfie with the prime-minister munching his snack as a unique background.
Mr Cameron’s fellow passengers said the man was oblivious to all the amateur photography going on around him and just carried on munching out of his £1.80 tube of Pringles. They all said they were close enough to see the PM had forsaken popular flavours such as Texas BBQ and Sour Cream & Onion for spicy Paprika.
One of the budding photographers aboard the flight was Twitter user Ashleigh. She said later that she was stunned to see Mr Cameron chomping away at the snack, but at the same time she felt a little humbled by the sight.
The passengers said that once the PM had finished eating he started working on, or possibly playing a game, on his iPad. The PM’s wife and three children are currently holidaying in Portugal and Twitter users speculated that he had opted to fly easyJet to give his Man of the People image an airing.
Although easyJet tickets are usually cheaper than those for scheduled airlines, passengers claimed that the PM would not have saved much as he was travelling with his security detail. Twitter users were quick to point out that Mr Cameron likes to dine in public and many recalled images of him using a knife and fork to cut up a hotdog.
