After a £70,000 check-in refurb was unveiled at Doncaster’s Robin Hood Airport, tour operators Thomson and First Choice, both owned by TUI UK announced new routes using the airport. The change has included a dedicated customer service counter for the two companies, four branded check-in desks and a play area for the children.
This was all in addition to TUI announcing that as from next year they will be offering flights from Robin Hood Airport to Lanzarote, Turkey and Tunisia. All the flight will be available with no stop-overs direct from Doncaster for the first time.
“We’ve been working closely with the tour operator on this initiative for some time, wanting to create the Thomson/First Choice experience from the moment passengers arrive to the time they board their aircraft. The news they will be operating additional routes next summer further demonstrates their commitment to the airport and to the region, giving passengers even more opportunities to fly from their local airport,” said Neil Pakey, deputy chief executive for Peel Airports.
This comes as another improvement from TUI who are also launching a new service for Thomson customers called MyThomson where all your travel needs are found on one web page including direction to the airport from, checklist and much more.
