Drunken British passengers arrested for causing havoc on flight
Posted on: July 25th, 2008 by Doug SmithTwo intoxicated British passengers were arrested after causing chaos on a flight from Kos Greece) to Manchester. The plane actually had to make an emergency landing in Frankfurt Germany), in order to remove the two disruptive female passengers. The situation nearly got completely out of control when the 26 and 27 year old women attempted to open one of the emergency exit. Staff members were reportedly barely able to hold them down in their seat after this incident, due to their resistance. An ITV report also suggested that the two women exhibited violent behaviour towards flight attendants.
The 26 year old intoxicated passenger attempted, on numerous occasions, to hit one of the flight attendants with a bottle of vodka that she had on her person, apparently because she had become upset with the cabin crew’s decision not to serve them any alcoholic beverages, due to their intoxicated state. It was after this that the rowdy passenger decided that she would attempt to open one of the doors on the plane, claiming during the process that she needed “fresh air.” After their arrest in Frankfurt, both women were subjected to compulsory blood tests, which proved that they had very high levels of alcohol in their systems. Consuming a large quantity of alcoholic beverages is seen as one of the main causes of air rage.
