Easyjet wins best British budget carrier
Posted on: November 11th, 2009 by Robert BergersonIt has been a cracking year for the low-cost airline Easyjet and to top it off they have just been recognised as the best budget and economy carrier by the British public. As time have been hard for many airlines, with losses coming in thick and fast, less people flying and routes being cancelled, it is the likes of Easyjet who have shown growth in the past year. People have still wanted to fly, but they had to do it cheaper then say the year before. Easyjet have increased capacity across their fleet and have actually enjoyed an increase in profits.
With more travellers now taking that chance and trying a low-cost airline like Easyjet, they see that it is not as bad as some make out. A TV reality programme called Airline focused on Easyjet some years ago and in some cases gave a negative view for the airline. However, it was a brutally honest show and all it done was give some much needed publicity to the airline. The airline began to grow quite big and now has bases all over Europe with hundreds of flights running each day.
The award show was in London last Sunday night and was held at the Park Lane, Grosvenor House Hotel. As well as British award they also gave out outwards for different world best categories. The World’s Leading Airline was Etihad who are based in the Middle East. London also came first in the World’s Leading Destination as voted by a select group of travel workers.
