Emirates unveils new lounge in Australia
Posted on: April 7th, 2008 by Robert BergersonToday, Emirates Airlines unleashed its newest lounge at Brisbane International Airport. The lounge boasts a full 360º view and is the only airline in the continent to allow passengers to board the plane directly.Five years ago, Emirates dedicated itself to providing passengers with state of the art lounges by investing $13 million to provide innovative, luxury lounges. Four years ago in 2004, Brisbane became home to the first Emirates dedicated lounge outside of Dubai. Since then, it has set the standard for all of the airlines lounges within its vast network. Since the airline kicked off the initiative in 2003, there are now just fewer than twenty Emirates luxury lounges and the experience for customers has reportedly been very positive. This, the second lounge in Brisbane’s airport, has a dining area and business centre in addition to the lounge area. It can accommodate just over 170 guests.
The accommodations are available to Business and First class travellers who can enjoy a plethora of goodies, such as a complimentary gourmet menu, complimentary drinks from the bar, a massage in special massaging chairs, leather recliners, flat screen televisions, bathroom and shower facilities and a fully equipped business centre.
Apart from Brisbane, the Emirates hosts lounges in other parts of Australia, Thailand, Germany, China, Malaysia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, France, the United States and of course, the United Arab Emirates. The carrier plans to open more lounges in various destinations throughout the year. They also hope to increase flights into Australia by the end of 2009 to 70 weekly.
