Recently, Enterprise CarShare made an announcement that it plans on launching its service in New Jersey. The car-sharing company says that its service will be expanded into both Hoboken and Jersey City. Experts in the car-sharing industry noted that this expansion is just further proof of Enterprise CarShare’s success.
The company has enjoyed some very rapid success in New York City. Ever since Enterprise CarShare launched in the Big Apple, it has seen nothing but steady growth. So far, it has been able to completely double its fleet, and memberships in New York City are up 50 percent.
Right now, Enterprise CarShare is available at more than 75 different universities. It can be found on 40 business and government campuses as well. The service is available in close to 20 markets, including Boston, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. for the moment. The company is hoping to continue to expand to other large cities around the United States in the coming years.
Ryan Johnson, the assistant vice president of Enterprise CarShare, said that it is his company’s expansion into New Jersey that will set the stage for providing commuters with even more car-sharing options. This is the key not only to driving the success of Enterprise CarShare but the success of the car-sharing industry as a whole. As urbanization continues to spread, car sharing will play a significantly increasingly role in local transportation. This service is poised to continue to grow throughout the whole region.
To start with, the people of New Jersey will have access to just 10 types of vehicles. These include everything from SUVs to economy cars. Over time, however, the company hopes to expand this offering. Enterprise CarShare is also going to waive the application fee for new members. Customers can even get a one-year membership free of charge. All new members will even receive $15 of driving credit to try out the service.
Johnson also said that because this service is part of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car family, consumers of Enterprise CarShare will have access to the newest cars. They can also rest assured that all of the cars are well-maintained and very clean. Enterprise wants to make sure that all of its consumers get the best service possible. It also hopes to offer a lower member-to-car ratio than other car-sharing companies. This means that there will be more cars for people to rent. Enterprise wants to make sure that this is a popular service that not only saves people money but is also convenient to use.
The launch of Enterprise CarShare in New Jersey follows a launch of the service in Salt Lake City, Utah, just last month. The service is providing vehicles at about 30 locations on local university campuses and in the downtown area.
Speaking about the Salt Lake City launch, Neil Hafer, the vice president and general manager of Enterprise in the state, said that the company has the experience and resources to present a successful car-sharing service to the city. Enterprise CarShare combines the company’s signature customer service with well-maintained cars and easy-to-use mobile technology. It can also offer a better member-to-vehicle ratio than other car hire or car-sharing services.
