Enterprise Rent-A-Car, which is one of the most well-known car hire companies in Europe, has announced that it is looking to expand into Italy. They are going to do this with the appointment of another European franchisee, Locauto Rent. This is all part of the company’s plan to expands itself even further across Europe.
Right now Enterprise Rent-A-Car can be found in six different countries in Europe. This includes the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain and Portugal. Now, with this new deal, they will also be found in Italy. Together, these seven countries present a whopping 85% of the entire car rental market in Europe. Thus, it appears that Enterprise Rent-A-Car has found a way to get itself into the biggest markets first.
This deal with Locauto Rent is huge because Italy is a huge tourist and business destination. It is because of this that Italy is the fifth largest for car hire services in Europe. Enterprise Rent-A-Car says that they see this new deal with Locauto Rent as a very vital building block to continue their growth all over Europe.
Of course, this new deal comes just after Enterprise Rent-A-Car announced its acquisitions of ATESA in Spain and Citer in France. These new deals, as well as deals that they have in Portugal, only help to demonstrate just how serious Enterprise Rent-A-Car is about expanding across Europe. With all of these new acquisitions, the company has a real chance to develop a huge European network for both personal and business travellers.
Locauto Rent is a huge name in Italy. This company has been around for nearly 30 years now and is a well trusted brand. It offers both long-term and daily rental solutions, which are used by tourists and locals alike. The company was first established back in 1979, but now has grown to operate a huge fleet of rental cars that is 5,000 plus large. They operate 28 different locations around Italy, most of which are found at major airport locations.
After adding in the Locauto network, Enterprise Rent-A-Car now has the largest European car hire network. This network consists of over 1,000 different branches and a fleet of more than 100,000 cars. Despite this, Enterprise believes that it can continue to grow.
Jim Burrell, who is the senior vice president of European Operations for Enterprise, said that the daily use of Enterprise continues to grow every day across all of Europe. The goal of the company is to continue to focus on providing the highest possible level of services and goods at the best possible value. They want to offer all of this while remaining flexible for consumers.
Burrell went on to say that, to Enterprise, it is not all about the size of the company. It’s about providing consumers with more and better choices during a time when car hire is becoming one of the primary modes of transportation all over the world. The truth of the matter is that Enterprise still has room to grow in the European market, and the company wants to make sure that it does it right.
