The summer holiday season may be over, but that does not mean that people are done travelling. In fact, Enterprise Rent-A-Car wants to make the fall a great time to travel for anyone who is travelling to the United States. To celebrate the start of the fall travel season, Enterprise has announced its $9.99-a-day special car rental rate. This is an offer that runs through May 21 of next year. Nearly 5,500 Enterprise locations around the United States will participate in this deal.
The vice president of Enterprise, Steve Short, said that this new offer makes weekend getaways just that much easier for people to afford. Now, people really can afford to take short trips to get away from the hassle of everyday life. Enterprise locations are located within 15 miles of nearly 90 percent of the U.S. population. If you need it, Enterprise will even pick up travellers at their offices or homes so that they do not have to worry about getting to the Enterprise location.
These weekend rates are for compact and economy cars only. The rates are also only good Friday through Monday. When using this special promotion, you get 300 free miles per weekend to drive the car. There is also an unlimited mileage plan available at some locations. The prices on these unlimited mileage plans vary.
Enterprise does not want people just to consider using this service for weekend getaways. They also want people to consider this deal for local transportation alternatives. During the week, a lot of people rely on mass transit. On the weekend, the price of this mass transit increases. Instead of paying inflated prices, rent your a car from Enterprise, and enjoy the weekend to its fullest. For just $9.99 a day, you are able to rent a car to drive yourself wherever you need to go.
This may also be Enterprise’s way of trying to compete with other car hire-type services. One service in particular is known as car-sharing. This kind of service allows people to rent cars for hours and not days, so they only have to pay for the car when they need it. Right now, this service is more popular around campuses, but it is starting to spread. As it spreads, it is threatening the operations of traditional car rental locations.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car has been around since 1957. Over time it has become known as one of the leading car rental brands in the whole world. Although it caters mostly to businesses, it also works hard to provide cars to pleasure seekers as well. Enterprise prides itself on offering everyday low prices that people can afford and focuses on having friendly and caring customer service workers. Enterprise has proven that it has a formula to success after being named the Customer Service Champs of 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 by Business Week magazine.
