Europcar introduces home delivery service in UK

Europcar, one of the most prominent car rental brands in the United Kingdom, has decided to offer home delivery and pick-up services for clients hiring both regular passenger vehicles, as well as vans. The goal of this new service is to make rentals more convenient than ever before for car hire clients, by giving them the option of asking the local outlet to deliver the desired vehicle straight to their home. Those who choose this option also need not worry about returning the car to a specific location, since a Europcar representative will come out and collect the car at the end of the specified rental period. This service is most convenient for Britons that plan to travel domestically, or those visiting family and friends in another part of the UK. Foreign tourists, however, can also take advantage of this offer, as vehicles can be delivered straight to their hotel.

While this service is not entirely free of charge, the associated fee stands at a relatively modest £10 if the place of delivery is located less than five miles from the actually Europcar outlet. Those who live somewhat further will be charged an extra £1.25 per mile, after the initial five mile distance. Since Enterprise is so prominent throughout Britain, the car rental giant estimates that in the vast majority of cases there will be a car hire outlet within a 20 minute driving distance from just about any address in the UK.

In addition to the home delivery service, Europcar now also encourages renters who plan to drive lengthy distances to buy petrol when they hire their vehicle, as they stand to save around 3p per litre, compared to the standard price charged at most gas stations.
