Europcar offering emission ratings on car rentals
Posted on: August 12th, 2009 by Taylor SmithCustomers wishing to save a pound or two or who are thinking of the environment when they rent a car can now check some great new features on the Europcar website.
With fuel getting more and more expensive on British roads some customers might well want to know how fuel efficient the car is they wish to hire and they can now do that online. Also for the greener car hirers who want to do their bit for the environment, they can now check the total CO2 emissions for each car on Europcar’s fleet.
The most economical cars to drive are un-surprisingly small three door hatchbacks and they also fall into the lower emissions category with an average of just 130grams on something like a Ford Ka or similar. The larger more executive motors like Volvos and Saabs offer a higher rate of CO2 and are not so good on the fuel economy.
“With cost cutting at the top of the Agenda for many UK households and businesses, using cars that are more fuel efficient has got to be a key priority. This initiative is in keeping with Europcar’s Environmental Charter and means our customers can make more informed choices about the vehicles they rent and, as a result, help them reduce fuel consumption and contribute to an overall reduction in CO2 emissions,” said Catriona Lougher, marketing director for Europcar.
