Europcar offers 50% off on one-way car rentals
Posted on: December 12th, 2007 by Hannah WestfieldEuropcar is offering up to a 50% discount on one-way car rentals arranged through its
UK website. In order to qualify, rentals must take place in early January 2008 and all cars must be picked up from a Europcar outlet located at an airport in the
United Kingdom. The deal only lasts two weeks, from January 1 to 15, 2008 and most airport outlets are participating, including Europcar counters at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester, Luton, Bristol, Edinburgh and
Glasgow. Renters should keep in mind that since this is a one-way rental, the maximum car hire period is only 24 hours. As such, this can be an ideal rental for those seeking transportation from an airport to a nearby city or town. It is also advisable to book a one-way Europcar rental if customers are planning on transferring from one
UK airport to another, in order to continue a trip. For example, many discount carriers serve Gatwick, Luton and Stansted, and these are popular airports for those arriving from continental
Europe. Yet many of these travelers may need to catch long-haul connecting flights at Heathrow. Europcar’s discounted one-way rates may make renting a car a more economical form of transportation between two airports than taking a taxi. Only manual cars are offered at this discounted rate, while automatics are available at the regular price.
The most significant discounts are for car rentals arranged outside of
London area airports. Travelers interested in hiring a car at anyone of the four hubs that serve the British capital should keep in mind that much lower reductions are offered here than elsewhere in the
UK, and these usually hover around 5%.
