Europcar to Open 7 Days a Week

Europcar LogoEuropcar announced last week that it will start opening seven days a week at 60 locations – 22 airports and 38 city centres – throughout Britain, starting just next month. This is set to benefit busy travellers, as they will now be able to pick-up and return hires on whatever day works best for them, including Sunday. This will set the benchmark for improving customer experiences, while the company also plans to launch 24-hour services at six key airports to offer access to quality hires whenever customers need it.

The change will make the flexible car hire leader in Europe the first to be open every day of the week at many of its British offices. Europcar’s other 128 locations will remain accessible six days a week from 8am to 6pm Monday through Friday; they will also open from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. However, the car hire group plans to roll out 7-day openings at these locations as well, provided the change is needed for customers at these offices.

Europcar Group UK managing director Ken McCall said in a press release that the car hire market conventionally comes to a standstill for the weekend after 1pm on Saturdays. Customers are made to either use an out-of-hours service or pay for another day of hire, which isn’t always convenient and makes travelling cost more. The current opening hours are pretty troublesome for consumers who are accustomed to using other customer and retail services every day. This change will make hiring a car more convenient for these travellers.

The managing director went on to explain that the company wants to ensure that hires fit in with their customers’ needs by offering the most flexibility and choice possible. With this opening hours extension, 60 locations will be open the entire weekend, while some key airports will remain accessible 24/7. This has been tested at selected locations for the last few months and has had great success; therefore, rolling out the service to more venues makes perfect sense.

McCall added that they are offering the most accommodating car hire product attainable, which is an exciting initiative for them and one they believe is excellent for their customers. Europcar is, once again, setting the standard by providing a service that meets their customers’ changing needs and helps them save time and enjoy flexible, quality car hire to suit their busy lifestyles.

In other Europcar news, the car rental agency has officially launched its Privilege loyalty programme in New Zealand. The scheme utilises the company’s global partnerships to give customers benefits and rewards for hiring with the company. There are three membership tiers, and each one is designed to give even more benefits and rewards than the last. This loyalty programme is available in Europe and several other nations.
