Expedia teams up with Budget

Expedia and Budget Rent A Car have decided to deepen their already existing relationship. According to the terms of their contract, Budget will now become one of Expedia’s “preferred” car rental companies, which means that those looking to a hire a vehicle through Budget will be able to arrange this using the Expedia website, where the lowest rates will be featured. Additionally, information on Budget’s fleet will be more prominent on the site whenever search results are generated and a greater amount of information will also be provided. These new terms will apply to both Expedia’s US and Canadian websites. According to media reports, the agreement is expected to remain in effect for several years.

Kaye Ceille, Avis Budget’s senior vice president, noted that this was an exciting moment for the car hire giant, as well as for Expedia clients, who will have more choice whenever they wish to rent reasonably priced cars, for both leisurely as well as business trips. Lloyd Johnson, representing Expedia, noted that the deal benefits both Budget, as well as Expedia clients. While the car rental firm will now be able to tap into Expedia’s unparalleled online customer base, the firm’s regular clients will enjoy more choice and cheaper car rentals than before, through Budget.

Budget is a prominent car hire brand, having been established fifty years ago and currently operates some 1,900 locations throughout much of the world.
