A rental car valued at £120,000 crashed in London this week after it came off the road and crashed through the railings in Bradford. The majority of the damage in the accident was suffered by the car and both the driver and passenger escaped with only minor injuries.
Both people in the car at the time of the accident were taken by ambulance to the Bradford Royal Infirmary for a precautionary check up.
The car, a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo, had been rented from Monaco Prestige Autos.
The driver was a young man who was driving on the Shipley Airedale Road near the centre of the city when he lost control of the car around 19:00.
The inside lane of the road had to be cordoned off by police. The section of the Wakefield-bound road located just outside the Yorkshire Building Society building was closed to traffic for approximately an hour while crews worked to clear the lane.
A crane was required to lift the car from where it had stopped to the back of a recovery truck called in for the incident.
Majid Zaman, a spokesperson from Monaco Prestige Autos said: “It was a young lad who was driving it, all I know is that it was travelling and ended up like this.”
The once beautiful car, while still a glorious enamelled yellow, is now a wreck with serious damage more than evident, particularly to the front end of the vehicle.
