Females Nervous Driving for Partners

Female Driver Freaking OutOver half of female drivers have admitted that having their boyfriend or husband in the car fills them with nervousness and anxiety, a study has revealed. From the data collected, it appears as though men are less likely to suffer from the same symptoms – with one in ten insisting that they actually drive much more carefully whenever their partner is with them in the car.

The survey’s research also shows that 9 per cent of males refuse to let their girlfriend or wife drive their car. A fifth of this figure say that this is because their partner’s driving skills aren’t as high as their own. Additionally, 26 per cent are under the impression that their car is far too powerful for a female to drive while 16 per cent feel as though their partner displays a lack of confidence whenever driving.

In spite of men’s confidence when it comes to their own driving abilities, females do have some criticisms as 13 per cent believe their partner is too arrogant while on the road. One in ten say that their partner either drives too fast or is reckless behind the wheel, according to the survey that was carried out by Aviva, Britain’s largest insurer. In comparison, at least 17 per cent of males believe that they are better drivers than their partners and an additional 16 per cent don’t think their partner can park a vehicle well enough.
