A British company, Seymourpowell, has this week revealed their concept plan for luxury travel in the future. Aircruise, as they have called it, will be a large vertical airship that is powered by natural gas and can look after many passengers in the lap of style and comfort. It will stand at about 265 metres from top to bottom and feature apartments, suites, bars and restaurants.
The innovative concept centres on getting people to their chosen destination in real class. Gone is the idea of pack ‘em and stack ‘em and instead the firm is thinking of making the travel experience one very special trip instead of rushing the passengers there. It is being aimed at accommodating just 100 passengers and is capable of carrying almost 400 tonnes.
The giant aircraft will be lifted away from the ground with a hydrogen gas and then run the rest of the journey using just solar power. The firm behind said the ship could easily travel at up to 150kmh and make the journey from London to New York within 40 hours, quicker than a ship, but slower than a plane. The amount of space being offered to each traveller will be immense and will be welcomed by everyone.
A detailed specification of the aircraft has already been drawn up and includes the technical data needed to make the airship a reality. Seymourpowell think the design could well be made and do not foresee and major problems.
