One cruise operator is enticing Britons with free flights when they book summer cruises from Europe and the Mediterranean this year.
Cruisers from the UK will be eligible for complimentary return flights to ports of departure for cruises from Europe and the Mediterranean this summer, as a cruise line looks to boost bookings.
Silversea Cruises will provide return economy-class tickets, and ground transfers, to UK customers who book on Silversea sailings from a number of selected ports. The offer is valid on 28 Silversea cruises, including departures from Athens, Copenhagen and Rome, which cost around £1,800 per passenger.
Telegraph Travel reported last week that a growing number of Britons have been looking for departures from domestic ports, in order to save on international flight costs.
The cruise line is also featuring return flights in business class from £199 on selected cruises from Europe, and discounts of up to 50 per cent on flights linking up with its cruises in Alaska and the Caribbean.
Trudy Redfern, the managing director of Silversea Cruises for the UK and Ireland, said: “We’ve created these new programmes to make it as attractive as possible for guests, who may have been holding back.”
