The world’s first totally environmentally-friendly car hire company has started renting out commercial vehicles. UK-based Green Motion has purchased several Citroen C2 Enterprise 1.4 HDi vans, which are seen as ideal vehicles for companies looking to find an economical way of transporting goods from one location to another. These Citroen vans are believed to be the most fuel efficient of all similar vehicles in Britain, and they are said to have the lowest carbon emissions as well. As such, the Enterprise 1.4 offers key advantages to renters. First, they are cheaper to fuel, thus decreasing the price of transporting merchandise. Second, using these vehicles are not detrimental to the environment, thus permitting firms that rely on these vans to demonstrate the responsible and environmentally-conscious nature of their business.
Green Motion is a relatively new car hire firm and currently has outlets in North London, Oxford, Palmers Green and Milton Keynes. Richard Lowden, the firm’s managing director, noted that it is key that the firm offer clients vehicles that are not only environmentally-friendly, but also highly affordable. Both Citroen passenger cars, as well as light commercial vehicles tend to fit the bill. Most analysts agree that it is important for smaller companies to offer competitive rates, as well as a unique service, as they must compete against much larger, international rivals when it comes to winning the loyalty of renters.
Green Motion advertises itself as a car hire firm that “does not cost the earth.” The company’s website (www.greenmotion.co.uk ) has been recently redesigned and now allows customers to arrange their bookings using a simple, streamlined interactive form.
