Hertz allows Northwest passengers to earn miles
Posted on: May 16th, 2008 by Jean AdamsA new partnership between Hertz and Northwest Airlines serves as good news for passengers who are members of the US carrier’s WorldPerks loyalty program. Hertz and Northwest announced late yesterday that they will be partnering to offer clients the possibility to earn more WorldPerks miles than ever before, thus providing passengers with more opportunity to enjoy free air travel.
Northwest WorldPerks program members will now be able to collect double the miles on all weekend rentals picked up in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, while at the same time enjoying a 50 percent discount on many of these car hires. The deal, however, is set to expire on June 30th, 2008, so potential clients must be sure to book their vehicle as soon as possible. Northwest passengers will also be able to earn the regular number of miles on all weekday rentals collected from any of Hertz’s more than 8,000 outlets throughout the world.
Hertz is currently offering 50 WorldPerks miles per day to all those clients who hire a vehicle for anywhere from one to four days. Those who would prefer to rent for at least five days will receive a total of 500 miles. It is, however, important to remember that Hertz will require clients to produce their WorldPerks account number at the time of reservation, in order to ensure that their points are duly credited. Bob Soukup, managing director for the WorldPerks program, noted that this new partnership with Hertz will give members the means through which to collect the points necessary for free travel quicker than before.
