The Hertz Corporation has announced that Transworld Company will now be its General Sales Agent in Kuwait. The aim of the company will be to increase car hire bookings from the Arab state to Hertz’s more than 8,800 other locations around the world. The global destinations most visited by customers in Kuwait last year were the US, France, Switzerland and Germany; and this partnership will build on those outbound sales.
Transworld Company has put together an independent sales team that will operate in Kuwait as a devoted resource, representing Hertz for outbound car hire. The team will provide a new level of support and service to the state’s travel trade professionals, who make bookings for their own customers. This will increase product awareness for Hertz among the travel trade, as well as increase outbound sales by taking advantage of Transworld Company’s far-reaching worldwide retail network, boosting business from individual and corporate customers.
Hertz is strongly positioned in the Middle East with 11 franchisees and in Africa with 23 franchisees. Overall, the Middle East has 66 locations, while Africa 161 locations. This offers its individual and corporate consumers a wide range of car hire and leasing services from the most modern fleet in the market. All Hertz locations focus on reliability, quality and safety. The group operates about 10,400 corporate, franchisee and licensee locations around the world, and it’s the biggest airport general use car hire brand in the world with about 8,800 corporate and licensee branches.
The US and Europe were still among the most popular destinations last year for Hertz customers in Kuwait, and The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) recorded the most market growth year-on-year. Kuwait customers hiring cars in Oman increased 166%, as well as 150% in Qatar and 55% in the United Arab Emirates. This new appointment of a General Sales Agent in Kuwait is the most recent move by Hertz in the state over the last year to grow its customer service and booking channels. The company launched a 24/7 English and Arabic call centre in June 2012, and then a dedicated domain website in August. In November 2012, the Kuwait division was honoured with Superbrand status, which further cemented the company as a premier option for both leisure and business travellers in the state.
Hertz International president and Hertz Corporation executive vice president Michel Taride says that Hertz is one of the most prominent car hire brands in the world, and millions of people recognize it instantly. They have a confident long-term strategy for outbound growth in Kuwait, which will focus on key destinations like the US and Europe. After helping consumers around the world for over 90 years, this new relationship with Transworld Company will build on the group’s longstanding history in Kuwait.
Transworld Company Hertz manager Cristiana Stefan says that providing their customers an abundance of products has always been their goal, and this relationship with Hertz allows them to extend the selection of services they offer. They look forward to making Transworld Company the face of Hertz in the Kuwait travel trade market and building the brand’s awareness among their customers and corporate consumer portfolio.
