The Hertz Corporation has announced that its Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation (HERC) subsidiary is introducing HERC 360 – Fully Equipped. This is an expansion of the company’s technology-driven customer support and project management services. The suite provides an end-to-end solution for customising, managing, planning, maintaining and renting equipment hire needs.
HERC has been part of The Hertz Corporation since 1965 and operates one of the biggest equipment rental businesses in the world. It offers a diverse line of tools and equipment for hire and sale – including air compressors, aerial manlifts, power generators, earthmoving equipment, material handling equipment, trucks, trailers, forklifts and pumps. There are about 325 HERC locations across the US, Canada, Europe and China that offer rentals by the day, week, month, or longer.
As part of HERC 360 – Fully Equipped, Hertz is highlighting its newest customers service enhancements and products. E-Services Program is the company’s online fleet management platform that helps customers to manage their equipment with real-time telematics data and fleet usage reports. Fleet Planning and Consultation provides customers with hands-on experience with industry professionals to make sure they have the right tools to do their job right and maximise efficiencies. Asset Management provides customers with a contact for daily assistance for an entire project.
Additionally, Asset Locator/Telematics offers equipment usage and tracking details to help customers monitor equipment safety, utilisation and performance. On-Site Support offers dedicated on-site equipment and provides committed personnel for immediate use. Customized Product Configuration allows customers to work with a project expert so that equipment is customised for job specifications. Maintenance Service permits customers to manage maintenance compliance for all of the equipment it has rented or purchased.
HERC has the biggest national account base and has been growing its diversified revenue stream into the power and pump, entertainment and industrial markets. Since 2010, it has taken over ten businesses to take advantage of these growth sectors, including: Northern California-based pump rental leader DW Pumps; specialty equipment hire provider Delta Rigging, which deals in the off-shore gas and oil markets; and lighting hire equipment rental Cinelease, which provides services to the television and film production industries. The company expects that revenue will rise 15% this year compared to last year. Revenue from non-residential construction already increased double digits during the first quarter of the year.
Lois Boyd, the president of HERC, says that they have always set themselves apart by offering superior customer service and a suite of services to help customers needing short- and long-term equipment hire resolutions. In the last year, they have implemented an aggressive expansion of their presence and offerings across several global markets. They offer a hands-on and consultancy based approach to ensure that they offer every solution for every phase of a project.
