Hertz has recently announced that it is expanding its Give + Go rental program. This program makes it easy for Hertz members to contribute to their local communities by simply doing everyday things, such as renting cars.
According to Hertz, the proceeds that are made during the first hour of every Hertz 24/7 Give + Go rental are donated to certain charities around the world. This time, Hertz has chosen to donate the money to the Food Bank For New York City. The extended partnership between Hertz and the Food Bank For New York City will see an additional 50,000 meals go out to local residents in New York. From there, every Hertz 24/7 rental that someone makes during the Give + Go program will provide up to 70 additional meals for people in New York.
Mark Frissora, the CEO and chairman of Hertz, said that many of the company’s consumers are looking for some kind of way that they can make an impact on their communities. Not only does Give + Go make a great sustainable rental option since all the cars are hourly green vehicles, but it helps to support local communities. This Give + Go program is able to use on Hertz’s mobile app and rental services. It provides the rental solutions that people are currently seeking out.
The Food Bank For New York City has been helping people find meals for years. In fact, this group supplies 400,000 free meals to the residents of New York every day. It does this through its network of 1,000 non-profit organizations and schools, which includes Hertz. This food bank even played a huge role in the relief efforts after Hurricane Sandy. During this time, there was a huge increase in the demand for food and services provided by food banks across the United States.
Patrick Mooney, the senior director of philanthropy at Food Bank For New York City, said that his group is very grateful that Hertz is offering its support. Right now, one out of every five New York City residents counts on the food bank program to find a daily meal. This is a service that has to continue to grow in order to keep up with demand. The Hertz 24/7 Give + Go program will have a very positive impact on the services that are provided by this food bank.
Hertz said that its Give + Go program is perfect for people who have sustainable mobility in mind. Every car in this program gets at least 38 mpg; many of them get more than that. Some of the cars even run on alternative fuels, such as clean diesel. There are a number of Give + Go cars available in New York City right now. To find these cars, people can use the Hertz mobile app or visit the Hertz website.
The Give + Go program is not just limited to New York. This program also teamed up with the NBA during Green Week. This launched a partnership with the Oklahoma City Thunder to help support the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.
