Hertz Launches Rent2Buy

Hertz will launch a new Rent2Buy programme which will be geared towards customers who eventually wish to own their own vehicle. The online based system will allow customers of the well-known car hire company reserve rental cars for a three-day test drive with the mindset that they wish to purchase them.

For those in the market to buy a used car, Hertz Rent2Buy offers a hassle free, money-saving way to guarantee that the car is the right vehicle for the would-be buyer. Customers receive complete use of the used vehicle for up to three days, and at the end may then opt to purchase that same vehicle from the rental lot.

The three day trial is treated as a standard rental which is $49 per day, or $99 per day for luxury class vehicles such as Mercedes or Corvettes. The trial is a great way to ensure that the car is a good fit prior to committing to a purchase.

Customers who try out cars for three days or less, who are not satisified can then simply return the vehicle just like a rental car. John Thomas, the Executive VP for Global Supply Chain Management, said that since beginning the programme with Hertz, more cars have been sold online with many being purchased at under-market value.

Prospective buyers can visit Hertz Rent2Buy website to browse available vehicles and make a reservation for a three day trial. Hertz has rental locations all over Europe including 78 major airports and city branches.
