Hertz launches self drive in India

The self drive sector, Hertz Holiday Drives, has decided to spread its wings and enter the Indian market next year. Discover the World Marketing (DWTM) will run the operation for the hire car firm and are currently in talks with South African Airlines with a view of the airline starting a Fly-Drive deal for packages to India and are looking for similar set ups with other carriers. There are already similar sorts of deals for South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland and the US that DWTM has targeted as a great opportunity to arrive in India.

DWTM will start the marketing on a business to business level offering semi-drive and drive with accommodation packages as they understand many tour operators already have deals with hotels. The semi-drive will offer the customers cars and route suggestions while the full package will give them hotels and routes to follow when they are in the country. Some great routes have already been well established in other countries and are proving quite popular with the clients. Drives like Route 66 in the US and the Great Ocean Road in Australia are among the most popular.

Specialist training programmes will be offered for those that are travelling to a country that drives on the other side of the road to their homeland. As well as this defensive driving will be promoted on the courses so that travellers are made aware of traffic laws in the country they are heading to. Courses can last up to 15 days and are a great introduction for their customers who probably do not know the laws of driving in that country.
